This summer I have the honor of serving on the House Leguslative Redistricting Committee. I studied Election Law in law school and am very exciting to begin working on the task. Redistricting happens every 10 years in coordination with the U.S. Census. While the final numbers have been delayed this year, it appears we will receive the data in August. That will give us 3 months to create a map and hold public hearings before we go to a Special Session in November to approve a final map. I have been appointed to the Technology Subcommittee and anticipate working closely on the Sioux Falls area districts.
